In March/April of 2010, the library will hold its first ever "One Book, One Community" event, in which Hillside residents will be encouraged to all read and discuss the same book-Seedfolks by Paul Fleischman. In the book, a number of people of varying ages and backgrounds, transform a trash-filled inner-city lot into a productive and beautiful garden, and in doing so, transform their own opinions about each other. This book is appropriate for grades 5 and above. The book size is slim (69 pages), but its messages and themes are profound and lasting.
