Library Card Design Contest!

Create a new design for Hillside's library cards!
Designs should be related to the library, books, or reading.  Two winning designs will be chosen and turned into new library cards for Hillside cardholders.
Pick up a form at the library today!

Contest Rules
 1.  Children in 1st-12th grades who live in Hillside are eligible to participate.  One winning design from each of the following categories will be featured on the library cards: 1st-5th grade and 6th-12th grade.
 2.  One entry per child will be accepted.
 3.  Designs should be related to the Hillside Public Library, books, and/or reading, and winners will be selected based on originality, artistry, and use of theme.
 4.  Entries must be in color.  Markers and colored pencils are preferred.
 5.  Copyrighted characters may not be used. (Disney, Garfield, Pokemon, etc.)
 6.  Entries will be accepted September 1-October 19, 2009
 7.  Completed entries must be submitted in person at the Hillside Public Library's Check Out Desk.
 8.  Winners will be notified by phone and letter during the week of October 26, 2009.  A subsequent announcement of the winners will be found at the Hillside Public Library and on the library's website.
 9.  In addition to having their artwork featured on the cards, each winner will receive a $30 gift card to Target.
10.  Library cards with the winning artwork will be available to the public starting April 2010 in honoe of National Library Week.
11.  All entries become the property of the library and will not be returned.  Upon submission of an entry, each entrant grants the Hillside Public Library all rights to the design contained in that entry and agrees that the design may be displayed and/or reproduced without limitation or compensation to the entrant.
12.  Each entry must be accompanied by the contest form and release.
